Paulo Fonseca said that some of his players did not fight with self-sacrifice in the game with Red Star and he emphasized that he is willing too replace them with academy players if necessary.
AC Milan may have beaten Red Star 2-1 in their champions League Round 6 match, but manager Paulo Fonseca was not happy with the attitude of some of his players on the pitch.
Even though he did not want to name them,he explained that they did not fight with all their strength, which allowed the Serbs to claim the game until the end of the game. For that reason, Fonseca has said that this behaviour will not be acceptable and that he is willing to replace them with players from the B team and the academies.
the Portuguese technician explained in detail:
“Obviously I’m happy with the result (with Red Star), it’s the fourth win in a row in the Champions League, we can go on well, but I’m not happy with everything else.
When we come into a crucial game like this with that attitude, when we don’t give everything to the shirt, things start to go wrong. I didn’t like what we did as a team, we have an obligation to leave everything on the field.” forward.
“I’m not angry, I’m sad. I’m not angry, because we won, but other then that I didn’t see anything I wanted from the team. I will never stop. I always have a clear concious, as I give everything to Milan. If I have to play with the academy players or the second team, I will. I have no problem doing that.”
