Megan Fox appreciates the supportive co-parenting collaboration she has with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green and his wife Sharna burgess as she navigates her recent split from Machine Gun Kelly.
A source close to Fox revealed to PEOPLE that the 38-year-old actress, who is expecting her third child (her first with Kelly), is in a positive place with Burgess, 39, and Green, 51, with whom she shares three sons: Noah (12), Bodhi (10), and Journey (8). Fox and Kelly, who got engaged in January 2022, parted ways at the end of November, shortly after announcing their pregnancy.
"She’s overjoyed about being pregnant," the source shared. "She’s in a marvelous place with both Brian and Sharna. She gets along remarkably well with Sharna. Megan trusts her entirely when it comes to the boys."
"Brian is an remarkable father too.Megan feels incredibly lucky that her sons are surrounded by love and constant care," they added.
fox made her pregnancy announcement with Kelly in November, sharing a photo on Instagram where she cradled her baby bump while covered in black liquid. in another picture, she displayed a positive pregnancy test to the camera.
"Nothing is ever really lost. welcome back 👼🏼❤️," she captioned the post, referencing lyrics from Kelly’s song "last november," a track about a previous pregnancy loss shared by the couple.
In April, Green offered his insights on co-parenting his sons with Fox during an interview with E! News at Steel City Comic Con.
"The most critically important thing is always to prioritize the experience of the kids," Green advised.
"People often think they can shield their children from the effects of separation, but that’s simply not possible," he added. "The only true choice you have is how it affects them."
Green and Burgess discussed their relationship with Fox in more detail on Jana Kramer’s Whine Down podcast in September.
"I didn’t feel like there was a need to completely erase everything," Burgess said, referring to items from Fox being present in their home. "It’s not about that. We build our lives together. And I love that frame, and I love what it says."
Green emphasized that Fox remains an integral part of their lives.
"Megan is frequently in our house," he shared.
"She’ll drop off or pick up the children and sometimes she’ll stay for a bit," Burgess added.
green expressed the importance of their unique family dynamic.
"Megan holds our son Zane, and it’s clear that we are one big family," Green told Kramer. "Family takes on different shapes, but with megan, we share a lot, and she and Sharna have built a wonderful connection – a strong friendship, mutual respect, and love for each other as of that."
