Bennett v. Biden: “Iranian Demand – Cheeky”

In Jerusalem, there is growing concern about a particularly weak nuclear agreement, signed by the world powers, led by the United States, with Iran. In recent days, there have been growing reports that the Washington administration will remove the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, led by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, from the list of terrorist organizations.

This morning (Sunday), at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett attacked the Biden administration’s plan to take this step: “We are very concerned about the United States’ intention to respond to the cheeky Iranian demand and remove the Revolutionary Guards from the FTO. “The largest and most murderous terrorist organization in the world. Unlike ISIS or other organizations, it has a state behind it.”

“This is not just an Israeli problem. Other countries, allies of the United States in the region, are confronting this organization every day, hour by hour. In recent years, they have fired missiles at peaceful countries, sending UAVs at Israel and other countries. “Even now, the Revolutionary Guards terrorist organization is trying to murder certain Israelis and Americans around the world,” he said.

Towards the end of his remarks, the prime minister attacked: “Unfortunately, there is a determination to sign the nuclear agreement with Iran at almost any cost, including saying that the largest terrorist organization in the world is not a terrorist organization. This is too expensive a price.”

“Even if this unfortunate decision is made, the State of Israel will continue to treat the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization, and will continue to act against it as they do against terrorist organizations. As usual, what determines our future is our actions, not words.”

As you may recall, last weekend Reuters reported that the US administration was considering removing Iran’s Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations operating outside the United States, in case Tehran promises to curb Revolutionary Guards.

As you may recall, in 2019, then-President Donald Trump declared the Iranian army a terrorist organization. Trump explained that “this is an unprecedented move that recognizes a reality in which Iran is not only a country sponsoring terrorism, but that its Revolutionary Guards are actively participating in terrorist acts, financing and promoting terrorism.”
