The musical ‘Once’ is‌ based on the movie of the ⁣same name released in 2007. Set in Dublin, Ireland, it depicts ⁣the love between a guitarist named ‘Guy’ who believed that‍ ther would be no⁣ more love in his life, and ⁤a Czech immigrant‍ named ‘Girl’ who had no choice but to give up her dreams for the sake⁣ of life.

The musical ‘Once’ premiered on‌ Broadway in ⁢New York in 2012‍ and was then performed ‌in major cities‍ around the world, including the UK, Australia, and Canada. At the Tony Awards held⁤ that year, it swept trophies ⁤in eight categories, ‍including ⁢Best Musical, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.

⁣ The⁤ korean premiere, which opened at the Seoul Arts ‌Center’s CJ Towol Theater⁣ in 2014, featured singer⁤ Yoon Do-hyun and actors Jeon Mi-do, park Ji-yeon, and Lee Chang-hee.

For‌ this season, actor ​auditions⁣ were held ⁤in ⁤three rounds in January.‌ Arranger Martin Rowe, who won the Tony Award for Arrangement, foreign co-director Dez ⁣Kennedy, and domestic‍ co-director Kim Moon-jeong participated as judges.
