Knesset members attack Zalansky’s speech: “Comparison to the Holocaust is outrageous”

by time news

Tonight (Sunday), Knesset members criticized Zalanski’s speech, which sharply attacked Israel for not transferring weapons to its country and for not imposing sanctions on the Russians and even comparing the Russian invasion of Ukraine with the horrors of the Holocaust.

MK Michal Waldiger: “There is no place for comparing what is happening now in Ukraine to what happened in the Holocaust. We understand and ache for what is happening in Ukraine – the comparison is outrageous, inappropriate and reduces the horrors that happened in the Holocaust.”

MK Mai Golan: “I came out of Zalanski’s speech with a very bitter taste. On the one hand, it is difficult to remain indifferent to the difficult situation in Ukraine, but on the other hand there is no justification for comparing the Holocaust to the Jewish people and using the phrase ‘final solution’ to the Knesset.

All this is in addition to the previous allegations about Israel’s immigration policy and referral to the High Court. “This is not how they ask for help.”

MK Yoav Kish: “War is bad and difficult and entails sacrifices and an unnecessary blood price. Holocaust is not. Holocaust is, among other things, deliberate genocide, it is crematoria, it is gas chambers, it is mass graves, murder of women and children on purpose. The Holocaust has no other word but Holocaust. Holocaust is not war”.

The government also disliked the Ukrainian president’s speech and criticized Zalanski’s assertive tone. Government officials said Zalanski’s speech was a “blatant and excessive attack” and that it was a “good spoon.” (Photo: Archive)
