Season 2 of NetflixS most anticipated film of the year, ‘Squid Game’, met fans around the world.
On the 12th (local time), a fan event and premiere for ‘Squid Game 2’ was held at Los Angeles City College (LACC) in the United States. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk and actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, im Si-wan, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Seo-hwan and Jo Yuri attended the event.
Director Hwang expressed his overwhelming feelings to the 2,000 fans wearing the same green training uniform as the game participants in the play, saying, “I don’t think I will be able to forget this moment.”
He then expressed his gratitude, saying, “As a fan of ‘Squid Game 2,’ thank you for participating in the event. You are the best Christmas present.”
“I’m excited that many people will see Season 2 tonight,” said Lee Jung-jae. “I’m very excited for you to meet the new contestants who are together now.” Lee Byung-hun also said, “I hope you all enjoy it together.”
The event site on this day included a 4.56km running race, a photo zone featuring a set from the work wiht Squid Game’s representative character Younghee, a nail art zone, and a night market where you could experience Korean food.
Simultaneously occurring, the American premiere of ‘Squid Game 2’ was held at the Egyptian Theater located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A large crowd gathered at the theater, and after the screening, there was a barrage of applause and keen cheering.
‘Squid Game 2’ will be released on Netflix on the 26th.
