Val-de-Marne: stupor in Marolles-en-Brie after the discovery of two babies in a freezer

by time news

An unmarked police car rushes on a Sunday afternoon through the quiet streets of Marolles-en-Brie, its two-tone siren activated. Unusual, in this quiet commune of the Plateau Briard, in the Val-de-Marne. That very morning, she experienced the turmoil of drama after the discovery of two frozen babies.

The discovery was made early in the morning by a resident of Marolles-en-Brie, in the freezer of the home where he lives with his partner, a house located in a residential area near the Grosbois estate.

This man in his thirties then immediately informed the police, of which he himself is a member since he is a police officer with the DOPC, the Department of Public Order and Traffic, one of his six major directions.

In the afternoon, this Sunday, several police officers were still stationed at the entrance to the small street where the couple’s house is located, a loop composed only of pavilions as there are many in Marolles-en-Brie.

The autopsy expected in the coming days

His companion, a 33-year-old woman, was taken into custody during the morning. The investigation was entrusted to the family protection brigade (BTPF) which depends on territorial security. In particular, it must make it possible to determine when these babies were born, and for how long they had been kept in this freezer.

“An autopsy will take place in the coming days,” said the prosecutor’s office in Créteil, who did not wish to provide more information for the time being.

The couple have no children together. The man who made the discovery this Sunday morning is not the father of the babies, presumably born from a previous relationship of the woman. She is also the mother of another child.

“This kind of drama is totally beyond suspicion”

According to the first elements, it could be two babies who would have been frozen just after delivery, twins, according to our information, confirmed by the prosecution. Many questions remain unanswered for the time being.

“It’s a very sad story, I even find it hard to believe it”, confides this Sunday afternoon, this resident of a pavilion located nearby, in the middle of gardening under a radiant sun. “Motherhood is such a complex thing, but how can you get to this end? asks this woman, mother of four children.

Same amazement for this young couple of walkers met a little further, recently installed in the district. “We know it happens but it’s shocking, and freezing when you know it happened right next door,” they confide in one voice.

“Even if I told you that we all know each other well between neighbors, this kind of drama is totally unsuspected, reacts David, a retiree from the neighborhood. It’s really not the kind of subject we talk about like that, freely. All I can tell you is that we are not used to such stories here. »
