Reduced 8 strokes in 2R and jumped too sole 2nd place (18 under par, 126 strokes)
Kim Joo-hyung and Titikkun hit 8 under par 64 with 9 birdies and 1 bogey in the second round of the tournament held at Tiburon Golf Club (par 72) in Naples, Florida, USA on the 15th (Korean time).
The two,who recorded 10 under par 62 strokes on the first day of the competition and tied for 6th place with the ’defending champion’ Jason Day (Australia) and Lydia Go (New Zealand),jumped to second place with a total of 18 under par 126 strokes on the day.
Grant Thornton, which takes place over three days, unfolds in a different way each round.
The first round of the competition held the previous day was played in a scramble format (two players each hit a ball and then choose a better position to continue play), and the second round of the day was played in a foursome format (two players alternately hitting one ball).
The third round will be played in a modified four-ball format (two players each take a tee shot and then switch balls from the second shot onwards).
Kim Joo-hyung also praised his opponent, saying with a smile, “As T-tikkun is such a good player, I feel a lot of pressure to maintain his performance. I try very hard not to make mistakes, but thanks to my partner, I was able to play comfortably.”
The Aksai Bhatia-Jennifer Kupcho (USA) pair reduced 4 strokes on this day and took sole 3rd place (17 under par, 127 strokes).
Defending champions Day and Lydia Go also reduced their scores by 5 strokes on this day and took sole 4th place with 15 under par 129 strokes.
nelly Korda (USA), ranked first in the women’s golf world rankings, is tied for 10th place (11 under par, 133 strokes) with Daniel Berger (USA).
