Speaking at the opening of the second edition of “GITEX AFRICA Morocco”, Mr. Al Mansouri stressed that Morocco is driven by a strong will allowing it to position itself at the forefront on a global scale, thanks to its rich heritage and its potential and capabilities.
Morocco is constantly determined to consolidate its openness and its interactions with global experiences, he added, noting in this sense that Morocco and the United Arab Emirates continue to strengthen their ties of friendship and cooperation.
And to specify that the process of digital transition in Morocco as in the United Arab Emirates started since the beginning of the 2000s, noting that the world today is facing significant changes and has become a small village, ‘where the importance of moving forward in “the fight for sustainable development which is ours all”.
He also pleaded in favor of more cooperation at the Arab and African level in terms of artificial intelligence, big data and the development of modern strategies focused on new technologies for the well-being of everyone. .
For her part, the Director General of “Smart Africa”, Lacina Koné, noted that this flagship high-tech event enjoys crucial importance in the sense that it brings together African leaders and public and private actors of technology with the common objective of ensuring the digital transition of the African continent and, therefore, ensuring the prosperity and progress of Africans.
He, on the other hand, considered that Africa is called not only to adopt new technologies but also to contribute to the creation and development of technological innovation ecosystems with a view to supporting socio-economic growth. that the continent knows.
Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of Gitex Africa Morocco, was marked by the presence of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, several members of the government and personalities from various backgrounds.
This flagship event sees the participation of more than 1,500 exhibitors, representing more than 130 countries.
