Professional basketball team Seoul SK appoints new general manager Jang Ji-tak

Seoul SK, a professional basketball team, announced on the 16th that it had appointed Vice General Manager Jang Ji-tak as its new general manager.

New general manager Jang Ji-tak began his relationship with sports as a founding member of the New Century Bigs in 1999 and served as the head of the SK basketball team’s operations team, secretary general, and vice-general manager for 25 years.

General Manager Jang made SK the KBL’s most successful club through differentiated marketing that emphasized spotainment. In addition, after forming the coach system of Moon Kyung-eun and Jeon Hee-cheol, they achieved two championship games and three regular league wins.

Starting in 2022, he served as the head of SK Telecom’s sports planning team and was responsible for sponsoring the Korea Fencing Association, sponsoring national team and promising athletes, and managing golf tournaments.

General Manager Jang expressed his inauguration feelings, saying, “Based on the many achievements achieved by former General Manager Oh Kyung-sik, I will do my best to make the SK Basketball Team more loved and grow into a representative KBL team.”

Meanwhile, former director Oh Kyung-sik plans to serve as vice president of the Korea Fencing Association.
