Laxmikant Kattimani of Hyderabad FC’s dream of winning the Kerala Blasters title was thwarted. Though it was thought that the shots of the Hyderabad players hit the wall of Gill but the opposite happened.
Marco Leskovic’s shot was deflected and blocked by Kattimani, who fired three shots at him. Nishukumar’s shot was saved by the referee after the second kick, but the match was slowly saved by Hyderabad.
Kattimani was the captain of FC Goa last season. The move to Hyderabad comes after Goa stepped down due to a season of fading. At the age of 32, Kattimani reminded those who ignored him that his fighting spirit had not waned even after winning the title.
