The Beninese president surrounds himself with new collaborators to support his government. In accordance with a decree adopted at the beginning of the year, the Head of State appointed 12 ministerial advisers to the Council of Ministers this Wednesday, 11 December.
The first members of the college of ministerial advisers are mostly political activists who will now focus on sectorial technical files but with a political reading. Their roles cover the development of public policy and strategic government speeches and the monitoring of projects and reforms on the ground in collaboration with sector ministries. They also advise the Head of State and represent the government in important forums.
According to the decree that established these new functionss, the parties that support the government have proposed their incumbents. The 12 personalities named by Patrice Talon are former deputies, leaders of political parties or even senior executives in the public administration.
