Kourittenga: Tourism stakeholders equipped with the quality of services
Koupéla, (AIB)-The regional directorate in charge of Tourism in the Middle East, on Monday December 16, 2024 in Koupéla, trained 30 players in the hotel and catering sector, with the aim of improving the quality of tourism services and improve tourism services. to promote the development of the sector in the region.
The workshop, held on Monday December 16, 2024 in Koupéla, which brought together 30 tourism and hospitality stakeholders, was held in the presence of the regional director in charge of Tourism in the Center East, Yacouba Diakité and the provincial director, Amédée Wend – La-Sida Silga.
The training focused on the latest developments in the legal framework for tourism in Burkina Faso.
The participants were informed about the new procedures for obtaining, suspending and withdrawing business licenses, as well as the requirements for the quality of hotel and catering services.
According to Bénie residence manager Fulgence Nikiéma, the training is a real opportunity for hosts to update the latest regulations and improve their professional practices.
“Thanks to these new skills, I am now able to offer a better quality service to my customers,” he said.
Like him, the manager of the Allafanga restaurant, Céline Damiba/Boro, expressed her satisfaction, especially with the practical phase of the training.
However, she emphasized the importance of extending these sessions to establishment employees.
“I really enjoyed the practical training, as we were often new to certain aspects. Now, I have learned how to set a table, welcome a customer, serve a meal and many other things,” said Ms Damiba.
She asked the promoters to consider training employees as well, so that they can provide better services, even in their absence.
In the case of tourism services administrator and consultant trainer in tourism and hospitality, Joseph Franck Moné, he insisted that a quality approach was important in the tourism sector.
“The quality of services is a decisive factor in attracting and retaining customers. By achieving standards and best practices, tourism stakeholders can differentiate themselves and strengthen their competitiveness,” he said.
The regional director in charge of the Eastern Tourism Center, Yacouba Diakité, welcomed the commitment of tourism stakeholders in the province of Kourittenga to participate in the workshop.
However, he said that targeted training for establishment employees is being prepared.
“It was important to start with the promoters themselves so they would understand the scope of the issue. In the coming days, specialized training will be organized for their employees, with even more specialized and practical content,” he concluded. Yacouba Diakité.
It should be noted that training is part of a regional dynamic.
The first session had already been organized in Tenkodogo, which showed the desire of the DRCAT-CES to cover the entire regional territory.
