Initialed by the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, and the Director General of CDG, Khalid Safir, this framework partnership agreement is part of the High Royal Guidelines advocating the integration of development principles sustainable in all public policies and economic sectors of the Kingdom.
In a statement to MAP, Ms. Benali indicated that this agreement will make it possible to adopt innovative approaches to financing various public policies relating to the energy transition and sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of accelerating the pace of investments. and improve the quality of the types of investments that the ministry offers in the field of renewable energy and green transformation.
Work will also be done at the level of the administration’s exemplary pact in order to demonstrate the exemplary nature of the administration in terms of energy transition and sustainable development, she said, stressing that support will be done on the structuring of investment projects in this area.
This partnership, which is also part of a national dynamic of support for strategic projects in favor of sustainable development, defines the terms of collaboration between the CDG and the MTEDD to support the implementation of key initiatives and strategic projects in the areas renewable energy, energy efficiency, ecological infrastructure, and green innovation.
The main areas of partnership concern in particular the contribution to the deployment of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development, the exemplary nature of public administration in terms of sustainable development and participation in the implementation of Nationally Determined Contribution projects. .
These areas also concern support for territorial climate plans, and the promotion of energy efficiency, particularly in the sectors of public lighting, buildings, mobility, and waste management, as well as financing and the structuring of renewable energy projects, particularly in the areas of green hydrogen and electricity transport.
There is also support for the creation of industrial ecosystems and support mechanisms for research and innovation in sectors linked to the energy transition.
This partnership represents a new step in the common commitment of CDG and MTEDD to promote sustainable, inclusive and resilient development, in alignment with the Kingdom’s strategic ambitions in terms of energy transition and the fight against climate change.
