The Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity announced the participation of representatives from the National Authority to Follow Up the Implementation of Conventions on the Prohibition of Chemical and Nuclear Weapons, at the headquarters of the International Committee to Follow Up on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in the Dutch city of The Hague.

The twenty-sixth annual meeting of national bodies was held from 20 to 25 November 2024, and the annual meeting of States Parties was held from 25 to 30 November 2024.

The meeting witnessed Libya regaining its full membership in the organization and its right to vote after ten years of freeze.

This achievement came as a result of the tireless efforts made by the Government of National Unity, and the continuous follow-up by the Director of the Office of the Minister of Defense, in coordination with the Libyan delegate to the organization, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority, and with the support of the report of the investigation inspectors after their announced visit to the Association for Pharmaceutical Industries factory, in the period from 11 Until 11/15/2024 AD.

All these efforts contributed to strengthening the position of the Libyan state and gaining the credibility to regain its full membership in the organization.
