Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov, a meeting of the department’s board on the results of 2024 was held in a hybrid format.
As Day.Az was informed by the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, in his speech, the chairman of the board noted the important events and successes achieved in the energy sector this year in accordance with the socio-economic development policy defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
“It was emphasized that the successful holding of COP29 by Azerbaijan, the initiatives put forward in the field of energy, received broad international support and that this support continues after the conference. It was noted that the steps taken within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” in the field modernization of energy supply infrastructure, increasing the share of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency have played an important role in the development of the energy sector.
Then reports were heard on the agenda items of the meeting. In the Action Plan “Strategy for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026” a report was presented on the status of implementation in 2024 of the activities for which the Ministry of Energy is responsible. The report highlights projects implemented during the year within the framework of international cooperation in the energy sector, as well as the results of activities carried out in the field of renewable energy.
At the meeting, the draft Work Plan of the Board of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025 was also reviewed and a decision was made to approve it.
In conclusion, the chairman of the board gave instructions for the effective implementation of the assigned tasks for the implementation of projects aimed at developing the energy sector next year,” the department said in a statement.
