Adam Boehler, US President-elect Donald Trump’s special adviser on hostage issues, will arrive in Israel in the coming days for a private visit.

According to Ynet sources, he will hold consultations with Israeli officials on a possible deal with Hamas aimed at returning abductees from the Gaza Strip.

It is expected that a meeting between Boehler and representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Defense could take place as soon as Monday. Sources say that a request for approval of the meeting was received by the office of the Minister of Defense.

Previously, Donald Trump spoke out sharply, demanding that Hamas release the hostages before his inauguration on January 21. He warned that if these demands were not met, the situation in the Middle East could seriously deteriorate. Adam Boehler, who previously helped draft the Abraham Accords, supported Trump’s position. He emphasized that those holding hostages must be prepared for serious consequences.

Böhler also spoke out about the need for tough measures against terrorists from Gaza, including military operations. He recalled that the United States has significant experience in successful special operations outside its territory, and noted that a targeted operation is not an analogue of a long-term military presence.

The visit of the special envoy will be another step in the US attempts to achieve the return of abducted citizens and increase pressure on Hamas.

Earlier, Kursor reported that a crisis had emerged in the negotiations for the release of the hostages.

Hamas continues to increase pressure on Israel by distributing propaganda videos to influence the progress of negotiations.
