Latvia’s best biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs took 28th place in the third stage of the World Cup (WC) in Annecy (France) in the 10-kilometer sprint distance with two penalty laps. The other three Latvian biathletes also made two mistakes in the shooting range. Renars Birkentáls – 57th, Aleksandar Patryuks – 76th and Edgar Mis – 82nd place. On Friday at 15.20 Latvian time, the 7.5 kilometer sprint competition for women will start.
In February of this year, at the world championship in the Czech biathlon center in Nove Mesto, Rastorgujevs achieved the best result ever in the history of Latvian biathlon, winning a silver medal in the distance with a joint start. This season, Andrej has not managed to climb higher than the 28th position. In this place, he was in the previous stage in Hochfilzen in the 10 kilometer sprint distance with one penalty lap. On Thursday, the 28th place in Annecy was won by two missed targets. Both times Rastorgujev made a mistake from the standing position. In speed skiing, the leader of the Latvian national team had the 25th result.
