The Russian Ministry of Defense reported, “A Ukrainian attack on civilian infrastructure facilities, in the city of Kazan (capital of the Republic of Tatarstan), was thwarted with 6 drones this Saturday morning.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense said, on its Telegram channel: “On December 21, the Kiev regime, between 7:40 and 9:20 a.m., attacked infrastructure facilities in the city of Kazan with drones.”
The ministry continued: “Russian air defenses successfully shot down 3 Ukrainian drones, and 3 others were neutralized with the help of electronic warfare systems.”
On Saturday morning, the authorities of the city of Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, announced that the city was attacked by a Ukrainian army with marches that targeted three neighborhoods in the city, resulting in fires breaking out in several residential buildings.
Official sources reported that “the attack targeted the Sovetsky, Kirovsky, and Privolzhsky neighborhoods in the city.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that “at approximately 07:50 Moscow time, Russian defenses shot down a Ukrainian march targeting Tatarstan.”
Russian media reported that “the attack targeted a residential complex in Kazan, which is about 800 kilometers east of Moscow.”
TASS said that “8 drone strikes were recorded, 6 of which were on residential buildings.”
Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, said that Kazan Airport suspended arrival and departure flights in the wake of the Ukrainian attack.
