After the critical post of council member Hanoch Derech-Ehrlich about the joy in the city administration for opening the lottery for discounted apartments, comes the reaction of his faction leader, Shimon Katzenelson, who completely rejects things. “There is no doubt that this is a good reason to rejoice,” Katzenelson said

Yesterday it was a member of the Ashdod City Council, Hanoch Derech-Ehrlich, who criticized the joy in light of the opening of the lottery for apartments at a reduced price in Ashdod.

He posted and wrote that “the good news for the residents of Ashdod, that some of the partners in the city administration are happy to publish it as a great achievement… is, at best, an artificial message and an insult to our intelligence. In other words, neither good news nor shoes.”

He also explained why in his opinion there is no line here for the young people of the city of Ashdod: “Out of the hundreds of apartments that are drawn, there will be tens of thousands of candidates – only a few dozen. Dozens! Armored vehicles for the residents of the city of Ashdod. (Also in other cities). With dozens of individual apartments do not guarantee the stay of young people in the city. And when there is no real line, there is no need to scribble a single one. “

But among those who welcomed the lottery were indeed his partners in the city administration – the mayor, Dr. Yechiel Lasri and also, and no less surprisingly, the head of the faction is a member of Derech-Ehrlich who is also in charge of the Engineering Administration, Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Katzenelson.

In a response from Katzenelson, he wrote contrary to the words of his No. 2, that “the lottery of apartments for young couples is a great achievement and there is no doubt that this is a good reason to rejoice, certainly when it comes to the first lottery for the city of Ashdod.”

Regarding the critical post in which it was written that it is not possible to keep the young people of Ashdod in the city with several “dozens of apartments,” Katzenelson said: “I think that the post of Adv. Hanoch Derech Erlich was not understood correctly. Enoch’s critique was about the manner of the lottery, which leaves 20% safe for young couples living in Ashdod, and not a critique of the city leadership of which he is a part. In my opinion, it is impossible to know for sure how many young couples from Ashdod will win the lottery. We know that the prophecy was given to fools, but if only 860 young couples from Ashdod apply for a lottery of 860 housing units, then everyone will win an apartment. “

Katzenelson added: “We have taken an important step towards a housing solution for young couples. In the next stage, we will also reach the housing project for young couples in the 13th District, where 440 units will be raffled off for rent for a period of 20 years and then purchased. I am convinced and sure.” “Talking about an addition of 15,000 housing units in the city will be an appropriate solution for all Ashdod residents, including young couples.”
