After a 12-round fight, all three judges decided that Usik won 116:112.
Usyk defended the championship belts in versions of the World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO) and The Ring magazine.
In the first round, the boxers fought on an equal footing, Usik had a greater advantage at the beginning of the second round, but at the end of the round, Fury also got the punches. The third round began with Fury’s punch combinations, for which Usyk signaled to the referee that his opponent hit him on the back of the head, while the Ukrainian was more active in the fourth round.
In the fifth round, Fury attacked more, while in the sixth round, Usyk became more active again and hit Fury on the nose with a powerful blow. Also in the seventh round, Usyk continued to attack and Fury began to tire, starting to climb back more. Also in the eighth round, the Ukrainian attacked more than his opponent.
In the ninth round, Fury became more aggressive again, who kept the initiative in the tenth round as well, at the end of which both boxers delivered several accurate blows. In the 11th round, Usik was faster again, who succeeded in several precise combinations of blows.
In the opening round of the final round, a successful jab to the body of the opponent gave Fury, to which Usyk responded with quick combinations of shots for the rest of the round.
Usyk landed 179 of 423 punches in the fight, while Fury landed 509 punches, landing 144 of them.
In the first fight between the two on May 18, which was the first heavyweight title unification fight this century, Usik won by split decision on points. After 12 rounds, two judges gave Usyk the victory with 115:112 and 114:113, but one judge decided that Fury was superior with 114:113.
Immediately after the fight, both boxers expressed their readiness for a rematch.
On June 25, Usik announced that he was relinquishing the title of champion in the version of the International Boxing Federation (IBF). In it, the world champion title belongs to the British boxer Daniel Dubois.
The 37-year-old Usyk, who has 23 wins in the same fights, as well as 14 knockouts, holds the WBC, WBA, WBO and The Ring magazine world titles.
The 36-year-old Fury has celebrated 34 wins in 37 fights and one draw, winning 24 by knockout.
