The North Korean military, involved in offensive operations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces, uses outdated tactics from the Second World War, which leads to significant losses in its ranks.

This was reported by military analyst and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Alexey Getman on Radio NV.

The expert noted that the North Koreans are advancing in line, as prescribed by the combat regulations of the Soviet army during the Great Patriotic War. This approach has not been used in modern combat operations for a long time, since it leads to large losses among personnel.

Unlike the North Koreans, the Russian army, since the time of the active participation of the Wagner group, has been using the tactics of small assault groups consisting of 3-9 people. These groups attack point positions and gradually move forward. However, the North Koreans, as Hetman explained, are ordered to advance in a dense line, which makes them an easy target for Ukrainian defenders.

The analyst also emphasized that the physical training of North Korean soldiers is quite high: they shoot well and even shoot down Ukrainian drones with small arms. However, outdated approaches to combat make their tactics ineffective.

Getman suggested that the reason the North Koreans are using such tactics may lie in the tense relationship between them and the Russian military.

Russian commanders, when giving orders for the assault, demand that the Russians act using modern methods, and the North Koreans are forced to attack frontally, essentially sending them to certain death.

Previously, Cursor wrote about how the participation of North Korean soldiers influenced the course of the war in Ukraine.

The expert noted that even insufficiently experienced North Korean soldiers force Ukraine to waste ammunition and forces.
