He National Electoral Institute (INE) will set the deadline January 15 next for states to report whether they will organize local judicial elections and how many positions will be renewed per entity.

During the session of the Temporary Commission for the Organization of the Judicial Electoral Process, it was established that after that date it would be unviable to carry out logistical and collaboration activities with the states.

Local Congresses must notify the Local Public Electoral Bodies (Oples) and the INE “of the number and type of positions in the state Judiciary that will be elected in 2025, which must be done no later than January 15, 2025.”

The project, which will be submitted to the General Council for consideration, indicates that, at the last cut, Durango, Michoacán, Tamaulipas and Tlaxcala have reforms in force to organize local judicial elections next year, so inform the INE of the details of the charges to choose, the Institute must exercise its constitutional mandate to support the organization of these processes.

According to the project, on January 31 the local electoral geography must be delivered to the INE and on February 28 the electoral bodies of the states must already have the lists of candidates.

The INE will prepare the Comprehensive Plan for these local elections, which will be concurrent with those of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, and among the key dates is March 15 with the production of minutes and ballots in the states.
