Ten-year-old Nahyun makes her family cry and laugh. Nahyeon, who has a neurofibroma on her right cheek, has already had to undergo four surgeries to remove the tumor since she was born. On the day of her first surgery, Nahyun entered the operating room with a smiling face, saying that she would come back looking prettier. The family cried for a long time in front of the operating room as they saw that bright appearance. Even now, Nahyeon always shows a brave and bright appearance without a single word of resentment as to why her face is different from her friends or why she keeps having to undergo painful surgeries. The family is always heartbroken when they see their pretty daughter’s face swollen with surgery scars and tumors. The problem is that we still don’t know how much longer Nahyeon’s treatment will take. Although he is taking medication and monitoring the progress, he still needs ongoing treatment and surgery, including plastic surgery, cataracts, heart tests, and dental procedures, due to the tumor remaining on his face. The debts borrowed here and there to pay for the previous surgery, which was several million won per session, and the medicine, which was close to a million won per bottle, have not yet been resolved. My father, who works three shifts at a subcontractor for a steel company, sells persimmons at the market on his days off to raise money for living expenses and medical expenses. Nahyun’s family is still worried about the gaze of those around her and the remaining treatment she will face in the future, but Nahyun’s family continues to work hard in their respective positions today, seeing Nahyun not losing her smile and being brave. As always, I just want to protect Nahyun’s bright smile until the end.

As her father was repeatedly hospitalized, her mother immediately went to work at a factory to earn hospital and living expenses. However, the situation was not favorable, and as farming loans fell behind due to increasingly difficult circumstances, even the house where strawberry farming was used was recently sold to auction. Having to leave behind everything you’ve built is a problem, but the bigger problem is your home. Since the family’s house is a prefabricated house inside a greenhouse, the house must be vacated immediately. I try my best to work part-time while working at the factory, but it’s hard to come up with a deposit to move immediately. The eldest daughter, Eugene, takes care of her younger siblings and looks after the house while her mother is busy running around. Dad’s accident and even the auction.
