jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of Commission
Dolfie said this in response to accusations by politician Gerindra Wihadi Wiyanto regarding the HPP Law being a regulation initiated by PDIP.
“The HPP Law is an initiative law by the Jokowi government, which was submitted to the DPR on May 5 2021,” said Dolfie OFP via messaging service, Sunday (22/12).
It is known that the 12 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) regulation is included in the HPP Law which was passed by the DPR and the government during the Jokowi leadership era.
However, Dolfie said, when the DPR passed the HPP Law, it still left room for the government after Jokowi to change the VAT to less than 12 percent.
“In accordance with the HPP Law, Article 7 Paragraph 3, the government can change the VAT rates in the HPP Law with the approval of the DPR,” said the legislator for Electoral District IV Central Java (Central Java).
According to Dolfie, the determination of VAT rates is based on the consideration that increases or decreases depend on national economic conditions.
“Therefore, the government is given room to make adjustments to the VAT rate (up or down),” he said.
PDIP politician Dolfie OFP said the regulation on 12 percent VAT was an initiative of the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) era government.
