This strategy, launched by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, in the presence of the Advisor to His Majesty the King, Mr. André Azoulay, numerous members of the government, presidents of constitutional bodies and directors of public establishments, also aims to establish Morocco as a digital hub to accelerate the socio-economic development of the country and digitalize public services. The goal is to move Morocco from 113th to 50th place in the world in the e-government development index and to facilitate access to public services.
In a speech via videoconference, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch stressed that this strategy was the subject of broad consultation, noting that the Executive took care to involve the main players in the field of digitalization to study it. content, whether it concerns public administrations, professional associations, training institutions, the private sector or even civil society.
For her part, the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Ghita Mezzour, noted that this strategy was created thanks to the concerted efforts of various stakeholders from the public and private sectors and the valuable contribution of the associative fabric across the Kingdom.
For his part, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, indicated that the national strategy “Morocco Digital 2030” aims to create more than 240,000 jobs in the trades of digital, specifying that the government will support the creation of these jobs through the training and mobilization of more than 100,000 executives, particularly in the field of professional training.
“The Kingdom has around 2,250 vocational training establishments, which are full of specialized skills in digital technologies,” he told the press, estimating that this will help to remedy the shortage of skills, whether at the financial level , administrative or even digital, particularly those linked to artificial intelligence technologies.
In a similar statement, the president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj, described the “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy as clear and integrated, noting that the private sector, represented by the CGEM, is determined to play its full role in this process, particularly through encouraging businesses to adopt new technologies, as well as to use the services of startups.
He noted that the main objective of this strategy is to encourage startups to strengthen their access to international markets by focusing on “digital export”, emphasizing the need to develop the entrepreneurial spirit, strengthen innovative approaches and to promote industrial laboratories and prototyping centers.
This ceremony was marked by the signing of several partnership agreements between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and public and private sector establishments.
These include the 2024-2030 program contract for the development of the offshoring sector, the scholarship contract for doctoral student monitors by 2026, as well as a memorandum of understanding on strengthening the offer of professional training in the digital field and the promotion of the attractiveness of Morocco.
The official launch ceremony of the National Strategy “Morocco digital 2030” also marked the start of the second phase of the national plan for the development of high and very high speed.
