Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli witnessed a bus collision with an ambulance while it was inside the airport, causing major damage.
According to the information, “the driver of a passenger bus belonging to the Libyan Ground Services Company collided with the wing of an ambulance parked in the aircraft parking apron at Mitiga International Airport.”
Director General of Mitiga International Airport, Ibrahim Farkash, said in press statements: “The damage that resulted from the collision with the plane was serious and severe,” adding that “the ambulance plane was parked and “the transport bus was working,” explaining that “the matter is under investigation.” From the competent authorities inside Mitiga Airport.”
He explained, “Administrative investigations are underway into the incident by civil aviation, and the insurance company is expected to bear compensation.”
It is noteworthy that “Mitiga Airport is an international airport and a military air base in Tripoli. It operates domestic and international flights, air ambulance flights, and other private aviation flights. It is considered an operations center for Libyan Airlines, African Airlines, Buraq Air, and Libyan Wings, and after the closure of Tripoli International Airport in 2014 due to damage.” As a result of the war, Mitiga International Airport became the only airport serving the city of Tripoli.”
