Pascal Groß came a step too late in a duel in Wolfsburg on Sunday. This now results in a suspension lasting several weeks.
BVB professional Pascal Groß has been suspended for two league games after his red card in the Bundesliga game at VfL Wolfsburg (3-1). The DFB announced this. Nadiem Amiri from Mainz 05, who also received a red card in the derby at Eintracht Frankfurt (3-1), also received a two-game ban.
The 33-year-old Groß was sent off by referee Matthias Jöllenbeck in the 62nd minute of the game in Wolfsburg after an emergency stop on Wolfsburg’s Lukas Nmecha. BVB will miss the top game against champions Bayer Leverkusen (January 10th) and promoted Holstein Kiel (January 14th).
Amiri (28) was shown red for a serious foul on Frankfurt’s Ellyes Skhiri. Mainz will have to do without their playmaker against VfL Bochum (January 11th) and in Leverkusen (January 14th).
