The Customs Authority announced, “the seizure of an Israeli medical equipment shipment in the port of the capital, Tripoli.”
According to customs, “Members of the Tripoli Seaport Investigation Unit of the Tripoli Anti-Smuggling and Narcotics Department, affiliated with the General Administration for Combating Smuggling and Drugs at the Customs Authority, in cooperation with the head of the Tripoli Seaport Customs Center, were able to seize a shipment of parcels containing medical equipment of Israeli origin.”
According to a statement issued by the authority: “After inspecting it and releasing it for the benefit of one of the specialized local companies called (S.A.C.), it was referred to the department’s headquarters and a committee was formed to inspect it carefully, until it became clear that there were actually three boxes with “Made in Israel” written on them in English. Accordingly, all necessary legal measures were taken, and the case file was referred to the Public Prosecution in terms of jurisdiction.”
The statement said: “These fruitful efforts and joint cooperation reflect the vigilance of customs officers and their keenness to implement the law and enhance stability in the country.”
