“We are clear that we command by obeying and that the people are in charge. The responsible and transparent management of public resources has allowed every peso in the municipal coffers to be invested in works that benefit thousands of residents in just 100 days,” he added.
Imelda Cuellar reported that 22 million 140 thousand pesos were spent on basic social infrastructure, such as: drainage, hydraulic and asphalt paving; drinking water storage tank, equipment with solar well pumping, drinking water lines and pipe replacement; Likewise, it began with the Permanent Patching Program, so far 19 neighborhoods and communities have been served, a clear example that public works must be carried out “taking into account the opinion of the beneficiaries and not the occurrences of officials.”
These first 100 days, the mayor added, show the pace that her administration has imposed on work and that it will have to maintain throughout the period for which this City Council was elected, with unrestricted adherence to the law, transparency, accountability, honesty, closeness to the population and ethics in public service.
He highlighted that a priority of his government is comprehensive care for girls and boys, so in this period, as part of the First 1000 Days Program, the nutrition of 32 pregnant women and infants was supported, and 40 thousand were distributed. 800 food rations were provided to 680 boys and girls, while the eating habits of 190 students from 25 schools were strengthened through workshops.
Cuéllar Cano maintained that public policies in the municipality have a focus with a gender perspective, in congruence with this and with the Municipal Development Plan, the Women’s Instance has provided psychological care, legal guidance and various supports related to health, As well as training for self-employment, these actions are aimed at empowering women and thereby reducing family and gender violence.
Regarding economic matters, his administration, he said, will continue working to make Actopan a cultural and tourist pole, since it has history, traditions, landscapes, gastronomy and a great wealth of its people.
Proof that we can achieve this is the “Festival of the Dead and some alive” that brought with it an economic impact of more than 17 million pesos, he explained.
Regarding the maintenance and lighting of streets, the care of green areas and the pantheon, as well as garbage collection, he said that they are daily tasks, which involve thousands of tasks, the attention of endless requests and the application of human and materials that, at times he acknowledged, are insufficient.
“However, in this short period at the head of the municipal government, we have expanded the coverage and quality of municipal public services. An example of this is the repair of almost 813 lights and the increase in trips made to collect garbage,” he noted.
“At the beginning of this administration, we received a collapsed transfer lot with more than 1,200 tons of accumulated garbage. In less than 100 days we managed to completely clean this space, fulfilling our commitment to solve this serious problem,” he announced.
