Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, “Russia’s opponents can escalate the situation against it, if they want to, stressing that Russia will respond to all challenges.”
Putin said, during an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin: “We see what our current opponents are doing, and they are escalating the situation. If they want that, let them do it. Let them escalate further. We will always respond to any challenge.”
He added: “When our current adversaries and potential partners hear, understand and realize this, then they will understand that it is necessary to search for consensual solutions.”
Regarding whether the world is on the verge of a third world war, Putin considered, “There is no need to frighten anyone, yet there are many and increasing risks.”
In a related context, Putin said, commenting on the Ukrainian drone attack on the city of Kazan, “The enemy will regret it and will face more destruction.”
In statements he delivered during his visit to road and airport infrastructure operating facilities, Putin stressed that “whoever tries to destroy something in our country will face destruction many times over and will regret what he is trying to do in Russia.”
The Russian President promised that his country “will move forward,” indicating that the government will not be satisfied with repairing the damage that some people may inflict on the country, “but we will move forward at a greater pace, and this is the case now.” He also indicated that the government is currently developing road networks, urban construction, and housing.” .
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that “the United States’ actions in the field of international security could lead to serious, if not catastrophic, consequences.”
Speaking at the Valdai Dialogue Club, Ryabkov said: “Washington, to ensure that it maintains global hegemony, is prepared to raise more strategic risks, play on the edge of the abyss and beyond the edge of the abyss, and recklessly increase pressure on those countries that the Americans see as opponents and adversaries.” The talk here is primarily about those countries that possess military nuclear capabilities, Russia, China and North Korea, and therefore the geopolitical games initiated by Washington could lead to serious consequences. “Extremely, even disastrous.”
