The popular board game CLUE was created in the 1940s. In it, a murderer is sought among a group of suspects who meet in a mansion. From its origin to this day it continues to be present in the social imagination.
Near the end of 2024 in Mexico, a theater version was presented under the direction of Rafael Maza and the production of Morris Gilbert at the Centenario Theater located in Coyoacán.
With 11 actors on stage, the play involves us in the mystery of the Cadaveri mansion in which a murderer must be found among a group of six people, including Mrs. Blanco and the Butlerwho receives them to resolve doubts.
These characters are embodied by the actors Rebeca Manriquez y José Ramón Berganza.
“The lady Blanco He is a character in this comedy which is farcical. This is a mysterious, seductive, quite cold character and she is accused of some murders that she says she did not commit.
The game of living with a group of people that everyone suspects, one of the others, is very nice. He is always suspecting who the murderer is. They are accused of certain events, but others begin to happen,” Manríquez shared in an interview with 24 HOURS.

“The butler is the host of the night and welcomes the six characters inspired by the board game. Those six are the central ones and my character is an extra who receives them at the mansion and puts them in check, or so he thinks.
“It’s a strategy game in which you have to pay attention to what the characters say. That translates very well to the fiction of the play because everyone is attentive to each other’s movements. That situation is what the viewer enjoys,” he added. Jose Ramon.
Childhood memories of CLUE actors
Since we’re talking about board games, we ask Cardigan y Jose Ramon about his childhood memories and Christmas. They both agree that the family is a key element to enjoy the moments and even more so during these times.
“My favorite game is Monopoly because I like to have properties. I enjoy board games because they allow you to spend time with family and friends. I have memories with my mother of playing those board games.
“Among the Christmas memories I can tell you that I remember a lot of my mother’s hugs. My mother died 33 years ago and one of the most beautiful gifts I received were her hugs and more during those times. My mother transmitted to us that pleasure of enjoying that time. I have tried to instill that in my children,” he recalled.
For its part, José Ramón Berganza Share your favorite board game and now replicate a family tradition at Christmas dinners.
“My favorite game is Catan if we start thinking about strategy. It’s fun since you build little towns and routes.
“As for my memories, in my mother’s family there is the custom of taking Santa Claus to dinner. Previously it was characterized by an uncle. He would come to dinner and there we would deliver the letter and now that I’ve grown up I’m Santa on those occasions.
“Children in their childhood believe in magic and seeing them excited is very nice. Actors like we have a childhood because we still like to play at being other people,” he concluded.
