Thiruvananthapuram: The protest will intensify as the stone laying of K Rail and Silver Line continues today. Officials will arrive in the Chottanikkara area for the survey. Despite the strong protests, the K rail survey and the installation of the boundary stone will continue in Kozhikode today. The protesters have decided to approach the court against the placing of boundary stones in their houses without giving prior notice. Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to march on Minister Saji Cheriyan’s office today in protest of his remarks.

K Rail stone throwers throw stones into the river

Meanwhile, strong protests against the stoning of K Rail in the state continued yesterday as well. Kozhikode K Rail stone throwers threw a stone into the river near Pizhuth. There were strong protests in Chottanikkara as well. The strikers in Kottayam and Malappuram stood firm. Youth Congress workers also staged protests in Kannur and Kollam.

In Kottayam, Congress workers and protesters protested by climbing on top of a vehicle carrying K Rail stone. The strike was led by the DCC president. There was a strong police presence in the area. The leaders of the strike committee informed that the strike will continue till the police withdraw. With the restraint of the police, there were no major problems.

The protest against K Rail at Kuzhiyalipadi in Kottayam Perumpaikad village was strong. Anoop Jacob MLA also joined the protest at Chottanikkara in Ernakulam. Congress activists threw stones. The stone was thrown by DCC President Mohammad Shias. Here the stones placed in the paddy field were removed. The vehicle carrying the stone was removed by the protesters.

Police detained Youth Congress activists who had come to K Rail Kallitan at Kannur Collectorate. Activists were arrested and removed. Youth Congress activists set up pegs at the collectorate. Police arrested 12 people, including Youth Congress district president Sudeep James. Kottayam: Activists staged a strike at the Perimpaikad pit pit on a vehicle carrying K rail stone.
