Sheinbaum signs decrees to restore lands to the Tarahumara people

The president Claudia Sheinbaumsigned two decrees for the restitution, compensation and titling of lands for the Tarahumara people of the Chihuahua mountain range, this as part of the justice plan for the indigenous community of Guasachique and Bosques de San Elías Repechique.

From Chihuahua, the president restored 1,485 hectares for the Guasachique community and 693 hectares for the community of Bosques de San Elías Repechique.

“Justice is the essence of the Fourth Transformation, social justice above all, that the native peoples are never abandoned again, that progress is not thought to go above the native peoples, that they are never again stripped of their land to the native peoples, but quite the opposite,” he said.
