jpnn.comBANDUNG – Persib midfielder Dedi Kusnandar is predicted to be absent from strengthening the team until the middle of the second round of Liga 1 2024/25.
This is because the player who is familiarly called Dado, has to undergo recovery from a serious injury he suffered when facing Barito Putera at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, Wednesday (18/12).
Persib team doctor, Rafi Ghani, said Dado underwent surgery on his right leg.
Based on the examination, the 33 year old player suffered a fracture of the distal 1/3 of the right fibula.
“Yesterday evening I underwent ORIF surgery, thank God it went smoothly and hopefully a speedy recovery,” said Rafi, Sunday (22/12).
Rafi said Dado still had to undergo post-operative recovery with direct monitoring from the team doctor.
Therefore, the player from Sumedang may be absent for three months. He could possibly return to play in the middle of the second round.
“Hopefully in the next three months the recovery will be good, there will be no obstacles or complications,” he explained.
Previously, Persib Boss Umuh Muchtar asked PT. New Indonesian League (LIB) to evaluate the feasibility of the Sultan Agung Stadium in Bantul.
This request was the result of a horrific injury suffered by Dedi Kusnandar.
Dado was injured due to poor and unsuitable field conditions.
According to Dado, Umuh said, the senior midfielder’s leg got caught in a grass vein which caused him to fall and suffer a fracture.
“Dedi said he was stuck and there were grass veins in it, so he was stuck like he was being pulled,” said Umuh.
Commissioner of PT. Dignified Persib Bandung (PBB) also hopes that LIB will be stricter in granting permission to finish matches in unsuitable stadiums.
“Hopefully it won’t be allowed again, because there are clubs looking for cheap places, don’t give them because it’s risky,” said Umuh. (mcr27/jpnn)
