The official spokesman for the National Oil Corporation, Dr. Khaled Gholam, issued a press statement regarding the corporation’s new achievement regarding crude oil production.
Ghulam said: “Today, the National Oil Corporation has succeeded, thanks to God Almighty and the efforts of national cadres working on production platforms, in various oil fields and ports, in reaching the target number for crude oil production for this year 2024, which over the past 24 days reached 1,405,609 barrels, while production reached 1,405,609 barrels.” Condensates 52,633 barrels, as well as 210,138 barrels equivalent of gas, making the total 1,668,380 barrels.”
He added: “This increase in production was in fact nothing but the result of the diligent and harmonious work of all the technical and administrative components of the oil companies and their fields, and in line with the strategic plan drawn up by the National Oil Corporation regarding the development of the sector, the most important of which is increasing production and opening the door to public giving.” In front of major international oil exploration companies, with the aim of expanding the circle of investment inside Libya, increasing revenues in return, and creating new job opportunities for young people.”
Ghulam said: “In this regard, the Corporation also seeks to involve private sector oil companies in investing in the field of manufacturing additives, drilling, exploration and associated services, which will enhance the confidence of these companies to compete regionally and globally in the near future.”
This plan also focused on preparing a project containing new graduates, through which 75% of them underwent training programs and were placed in the corporation’s affiliated companies with the aim of pumping new blood into the sector and preparing the second grade through an integrated training plan.”
He added: “The Corporation also committed itself, in its plan and implementation mechanisms, to the effective management of oil and gas reservoirs, by applying the latest international technologies according to the recommendations of modern reservoir studies, and it created a specialized department for renewable energies and carbon reduction to keep pace with global developments in the field of energy, and it spared no effort in implementing environmental protection projects.” And combating pollution, as it has actually launched a campaign to plant one million trees, clean ponds and reduce gas burning.
Today, as we are on the cusp of a new year, 2025, we are filled with a feeling of satisfaction with what the oil soldiers have achieved, each in his position based on the duties and responsibilities assigned to him, and we highly value every bead of sweat that crept onto their foreheads, thanking God for His grace and success, raising our palms to Him, supplicating and asking, for His perpetuation. Stability, security and success.”
The statement concluded by saying: “We are committed to our promise to move forward to achieve the best, to advance the Libyan oil sector to the highest levels, and to strengthen its pillars with the effort and determination we have exerted so that the National Oil Corporation will be a solid fortress for the resources and wealth of the Libyans, generation after generation.”
