Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces additionally released another memo from a North Korean soldier believed to be ‘Jeong Gyeong-hong’ who died in the Kursk region of Russia on the 26th.
The memo released by the Special Operations Forces contains information on ‘how to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).’ There is also a picture of three soldiers working together to respond to a drone. When one person lures the drone, the other two aim and shoot the drone from behind.
This appears to be aimed at helping the North Korean military learn how to respond due to its lack of information and experience with drones. The General Intelligence Directorate (GUR) under the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also assessed in an interview with AFP on the 24th, “The North Korean military has little experience in modern warfare, especially drones, and is primitive.”
Summarizing the special operations force’s announcement and memo contents, the memo states, “If a drone is discovered, 3 (three people) will gather together…” One person was lured in unconditionally… It says, “The remaining two people disappear through aimed shooting.” The analysis included one soldier acting as a so-called ‘bait’ at a distance of 7m, and two other soldiers shooting from a distance of 10-12m.
The memo also contains methods for escaping artillery fire. According to the Special Operations Forces, the memo reads, “When entering the shooting area, we will inform you of the gathering point and leave the shooting area in groups.” “The shells will not fall back into the pit where they fell, so you can hide in the shell pit and charge.”
Meanwhile, the Special Operations Forces also released a handwritten letter from Chung Kyung-hong on the 24th. It contained a message in Korean, congratulating a comrade in arms on his birthday, saying, “I left the beloved Joseon, the embrace of my loving father and mother, and here in the land of Russia.”
