jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The results of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which was participated by a single candidate were also not free from a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court (MK).

The Association for Elections and Democracy (Perludem) noted that there were eight applications for disputes over the results of the elections for governors, regents and mayors that were submitted to the Constitutional Court (MK) from regions with single candidate contestants in the 2024 Pilkada.

This number comes from 37 regions with single candidate pairs in the 2024 regional elections.

“There are eight cases related to single candidates,” said Luludem Researcher Ajid Fuad Muzaki when delivering a presentation in an online discussion entitled ‘Preliminary Portrait of PHP-Kada 2024’ monitored in Jakarta, Sunday (22/12).

He then detailed the eight cases spread across seven regions with a single candidate facing an empty box in the 2024 regional elections.

The number of cases consists of two cases from Empat Lawang Regency.

Then, Gresik, Tarakan City, Bintan, Pasangkayu, Ogan Ilir, and North Nias each have one dispute over the 2024 regional elections at the Constitutional Court.

He mentioned that all matters of the Pilkada 2024 dispute were submitted to the MK by the community and observers.
