Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom service providers, has achieved a significant achievement by coming first in the number of wireless subscribers in Delhi circle in October 2024. According to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Airtel added 64,158 wireless subscribers, taking its total subscriber count to 18,407,951. While Airtel became the leading operator with maximum subscriber addition in the Delhi circle, it was followed by Vodafone- Idea added 30,100 subscribers. Private telecom operator Reliance Jio lost Rs 134,653 respectively in the same period.
Airtel added a total of 19,28,263 wireless subscribers across all telecom circles in October 2024 across the country. With this, its total number of wireless subscribers increased to 385,410,746 by October 31, 2024. This growth reflects Airtel’s continued growth in customer acquisition and market expansion.
Airtel users got many subscribers
Airtel also showed the highest Visitor Location Register (VLR) of 96.23 per cent in the Delhi circle, while its overall VLR percentage stood at 99.48 per cent, the highest in the telecom industry, according to the TRAI report. These figures attest to Airtel’s excellent network and reliability, further cementing its position as a trusted telecom service provider.
Increase in the number of wireless subscribers
The telecom industry witnessed a decline in the total number of wireless subscribers by the end of October 2024 to 1150.42 million from 1153.72 million at the end of September 2024. Airtel’s market share stood at 33.50 per cent, demonstrating Airtel’s ability to attract and retain customers on its network even in challenging circumstances.
