Microsoft has responded to accusations that it uses users’ personal data to train neural networks. This was reported by The Verge, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
Experts drew attention to the user agreement of the Microsoft 365 service, which states that artificial intelligence (AI) can have access to users’ personal data. Based on this point, consumers suspected the corporation that it could read users’ personal documents and train artificial intelligence (AI) based on them.
Microsoft denied that it discloses sensitive consumer data for its own benefit: “We do not use customer data to train large language models (LLMs).” The company also explained that personal data can only be disclosed if users themselves share it with others.
According to media journalists, the company allowed users to become concerned because they made mistakes in the wording. “However, people are rightly concerned that companies are collecting user data without permission,” the experts noted. The authors of the publication recalled that at the beginning of the year a similar clause was found in the agreement on the use of Adobe services, which caused panic among customers.
