The Israeli army announced today, Thursday, that it had targeted, with an air strike, a cell belonging to the “Islamic Jihad Movement” in the Nuseirat area in the central Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said in a statement: “During the night, under the guidance of Army Intelligence, the Air Force carried out a precise strike on a vehicle containing an Islamic Jihad cell in the Nuseirat area.”
The statement added, “Before the strike, many steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence,” he said.
Five journalists were killed at dawn on Thursday, by an Israeli bombing of a satellite broadcast vehicle in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip. The journalists were working for the “Al-Quds Al-Youm” TV channel.
Palestinian media reported that the vehicle was parked in front of Al Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat camp.
Medics said early this morning, “At least ten people were killed and 20 injured as a result of two Israeli strikes on Gaza.”
Palestinian media reported the death of 3 newborn babies in the Gaza Strip during the past 48 hours, due to the cold in the displaced persons’ tents and their families’ inability to find heating methods.
Today, Thursday, the infant Sila Mahmoud Al-Fasih died after she froze from the cold of the tents in Mawasi Khan Yunis. The child’s mother said: “Sila died from the cold. I was warming her and hugging her, but we did not have extra clothes to warm this girl.”
Dr. Ahmed Al-Farra, head of the Department of Pediatrics and Obstetrics at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, reported, “The death of Sila and at least two other children, one of whom was 3 days old and the other one month old, due to low temperatures and the inability to reach a warm shelter.”
Five people were killed and 20 injured in an Israeli bombing of a house in the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City. Paramedics warned that the death toll was likely to rise, given that there were many individuals trapped under the rubble.

Ben Gvir’s office said in a statement that he “climbed the Temple Mount to celebrate Hanukkah, and prayed for the peace of our soldiers, the return of the kidnapped, the living and the dead, and the achievement of complete victory in the war.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office commented on Ben Gvir’s entry into the Temple Mount, saying: “The status quo on the Temple Mount has not changed,” which is the term Israel uses to refer to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In turn, Knesset member Mansour Abbas commented on the Minister of National Security’s storming of the Temple Mount, telling the Ynet website that “Al-Aqsa is an Islamic place of worship, and Ben Gvir continues to provoke the Islamic world with Netanyahu’s approval.”
For its part, the Hamas movement said, “Ben Ghafir’s storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a new and dangerous violation, and reflects the escalation of the extreme right-wing occupation government towards Al-Aqsa and its Arab and Islamic identity, and the Arab and Islamic nations must bear their responsibility in protecting Al-Aqsa and the holy sites.”
It called on the Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the interior “to mobilize and raise a general mobilization at Al-Aqsa and Rabat in its squares, and to confront the occupation’s plans, and for our valiant resistance and our revolutionary youth in the occupied West Bank to escalate their clash with the criminal enemy and its herds of settlers.”
