The Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly announced today, Wednesday, that the Egyptian government will pay $38.7 billion of its debts during 2024.

Madbouly, in a statement reported by the media, said, “during last November and last December, his country paid about $7 billion of its debt, bringing the total amount paid during the year 2024 to $38.7 billion.”
Madbouly said, “The Egyptian state is committed to paying its obligations, and it has never failed to pay those dues,” noting in this regard that “the amount owed next year will be less than what paid this year.”
He explained during his presidency of the weekly meeting of the Egyptian government, on Wednesday at the new headquarters of the government in the New Administration Capital, “it is a big challenge for the state to pay these amounts.”
The Prime Minister emphasized to “continue the efforts of the relevant state agencies and agencies regarding the governance and control of investment expenditure items, in a way that helps to provide a better opportunity for institutions in the private sector to participate in many activities increasing economic benefits, ie in addition to the contribution of these measures to control the financial performance of the budget.” General State.
