(Owais Kayani) President Asif Ali Zardari has said in his message on the 17th martyrdom day of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto that today we pay homage to the martyred Ms. Benazir Bhutto on the 17th martyrdom day. and was the embodiment of an unwavering commitment to the principles of justice. Shaheed Bibi was a beacon of light for all of us. He dreamed of a Pakistan where the rights of all citizens regardless of color, caste and creed will be protected and the power of the people will reign.
President Asif Ali Zardari has said in his statement that Mrs. Benazir Bhutto had said that “democracy is the best revenge”. These words were not only a blunt response to tyranny and dictatorship, but also a reflection of his deep faith in people’s power. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto wanted a Pakistan where every child has access to education, where women can progress on the basis of equality and where justice is not a luxury but a right. She spent her entire life raising her voice and working for the downtrodden sections of the society and the empowerment of women.
The President of the State further said that the life of martyr Ms. Benazir Bhutto was a journey of immense courage and a source of inspiration and courage for us. Despite the hardships and persecutions, they stood firm against dictatorships for the restoration and stability of democracy and the protection of the political, economic and social rights of the people. Shaheed Benazir said in sweeping words that “the fight against injustice and cruelty is the fight of my life.” For this purpose, she fought and got martyrdom throughout her life and is still alive in the hearts of millions of people. Shaheed Bibi firmly believed that “A person can be imprisoned but not for an ideology. A person can be exiled but not for an ideology. A person can be killed but not for an ideology.” .
He said that as the President of Pakistan, I reiterate Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s commitment to carry forward the vision of a peaceful, progressive and democratic Pakistan. Shaheed Bibi’s ideology is still alive today and teaches us to work beyond differences to build a united, inclusive and justice-based Pakistan.
