Jindo-gun recorded the most awards ever in 2024. Jindo-gun won awards in 37 categories last year, and broke the record for the most awards by receiving a total of 49 institutional awards in 2024. This once again proved that Jindo-gun’s administrative capabilities and efforts for innovation are bearing fruit. Meanwhile, Jindo-gun will hold a variety of special sunset and sunrise events at six locations, including Sebang Sunset in Jisan-myeon, Gajeong Beach, and Jindo Tower.
Sebang Sunset, where the sunset event is held, is a nationally famous spot that the Korea Meteorological Administration has selected as the ‘best sunset viewing spot’ at the southernmost tip of the Korean peninsula. It is a place where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the sunset coloring the entire sea red between the large and small islands of the Dadohae Sea. am. In addition, it was selected as one of the ‘Best Views in the Southwesternmost part of the Korean Peninsula’ by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and one of ‘100 Beautiful Roads in Korea’ by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Sebang Sunset Event will be held on the 31st from 4 PM and various events will be held with tourists, including a year-end concert, folk performances, wish band-wearing, and a sunset photo exhibition.
The sunrise event, which begins in 2025, is hosted by five town/myeon social and volunteer organizations, and includes prayer ceremonies, rice cake soup sharing, wish band-wearing, folk performances (Sacheon-ri), and other activities in the areas of Gaja Beach, Jindo Tower, Cheomchalsan Mountain, Cheolmasan Mountain, and Hajodo Lighthouse.
