The state leader of the BJP has announced that a protest will be held on the 24th on behalf of the BJP condemning the incident of gang-rape of a 22-year-old woman by 8 people in Virudhunagar.
Hariharan, who lives in Virudhunagar, fell in love with a 22-year-old girl who worked for a private company. In this case, Hariharan has sexually abused the girl by showing her desire for marriage. He took a video of this on his cell phone and sent it to his friends. Following this, Hariharan’s friends DMK executive Junath Ahmed, Praveen and 4 students of 9th class, plus 1, plus 2 have repeatedly sexually abused the girl by threatening to post the video on social networking sites.
The victim told Madasamy about this. He also allegedly sent the video to his cell phone and sexually assaulted the young woman. The girl lodged a complaint at the police station. Police arrested 4 school students and Hariharan, Madasamy, Praveen and Junath Ahmed in connection with the case. BJP state president Annamalai has registered his condemnation of the incident.
He tweeted, “In the award city, I was shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic news that a gang had blackmailed a video and gang-raped a 22-year-old woman. It is shocking that a local DMK official was the mastermind behind this heinous act.
Sexual violence against girls and women continues daily in Tamil Nadu and a huge protest will be held in Virudhunagar on the morning of the 24th to condemn this incident. The protest will be held to condemn the state government for not allowing the police to operate for political reasons. ”

DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan has announced that DMK leader Junath Ahmed has been suspended from the party after being arrested in the incident. Earlier, DGP Silenthrababu had said that First Minister MK Stalin had demanded maximum punishment for the culprits.
