Moulay Yacoub: More than 2,000 beneficiaries of a multidisciplinary medical campaign

Initiated in partnership with the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Initiatives Santé et Aide au Développement (ISAAD) association, this campaign made it possible to meet the needs of a varied population, including women, children, and people with chronic illnesses.

Dar Taliba (Student’s House) and the Sebt Loudaya primary school were transformed for the occasion into consultation centers where a dedicated team of health professionals provided the necessary care to this segment of the population located in remote areas.

In a statement to MAP, the president of the ISAAD association and dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry of Fez, Tarik Sqalli Houssaini, highlighted the multidisciplinary nature of this campaign, explaining that this initiative aimed to provide local medical services to citizens, with awareness sessions on various diseases, in particular on the health of children during the first 1000 days of their life.

Mr. Sqalli Houssaini indicated that a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and stakeholders was mobilized, offering diagnoses and treatments in various specialties such as general medicine, cardiology, gynecology-obstetrics, nephrology, endocrinology and diabetology, oral and dental surgery for children, child psychiatry, in addition to blood pressure measurement.

He also mentioned the provision of a pharmacy, the carrying out of ultrasound scans and laboratory analyses.

The president of ISAAD underlined the importance of regular campaigns organized in the region as part of a partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).

In a similar statement, the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) in the province of Moulay Yacoub, Saadeddine Jilani, affirmed that this medical caravan is part of the efforts made by the INDH to strengthen the health provision in the province, in particular by bringing health services closer to the population.

He recalled the importance given by the INDH to medical examinations specifically targeting women and children, noting that this operation was placed under the theme “The first 1000 days, foundation of the future of our children”.

Mr. Jilani specified that awareness-raising actions focused on the importance of breastfeeding and dietary diversification for children under two years old, thus aiming to modify harmful behaviors and disseminate good practices in this area. of maternal and child health, to ensure healthy physical and cognitive growth for the child
