The computer does not meet the requirements of Windows 11? Microsoft will issue a prominent warning

by time news

Prior to the launch of the Windows 11 operating system, Microsoft intended not to allow it to be installed on non-compliant computers, including the existence of a TPM chip for information security. Following the review, the policy was slightly flexible, and Microsoft did not try to block any ways that were discovered to circumvent the test, although it was careful to warn that users who ignored the warnings might run into problems in the future.

It seems that Microsoft will soon realize the threat, albeit in a relatively minor way so far. In the upcoming update to the Windows 11 operating system, which is already available to experimenters and is expected to reach all users in the coming days, a textual warning appears on the desktop that the computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. This warning also appears again in the system settings menu, where there is also a link to more details about the components that do not meet the requirements.

At this moment apart from the textual alert it seems that the operating system is not limited in any way, and can continue to be used as usual. The alert itself is also likely to be removed, although this will require editing of the registry, a potentially destructive operation that is not recommended for users who are unfamiliar with the process.

In some cases, the alert on a computer that does not meet the system requirements will be received even though the required components actually exist – and are simply not turned on. In this case the problem can of course be solved relatively easily. However, on older computers, usually those purchased six years or more ago, there will probably be no choice but to purchase a modern computer that is compatible with Windows 11 in order to get rid of future warnings and alerts.
