Ahead of the new docu, Dean Martin’s daughter recalls: “Dad was charming and kind-hearted”
Her father was one of the biggest stars Hollywood knew. Now, ahead of a new docu that will be out and about in his life and career, Dina Martin reveals that in fact, it was not as challenging as everyone thinks in the shadow of her father, who was, as mentioned, an international legend
Dean Martin was one of the biggest stars Hollywood knew when he passed away at the age of 78, somewhere in 1995. The new docu-movie that will be released very soon, called “The King of Voice” goes back in time, deals with the star’s personal life and of course his impressive career (50 albums in total).
In an intimate interview ahead of the docu-rise, Dean’s daughter, Dina, recounts that what made your father the king of the voice was the fact that he was kind-hearted. “Dad was sweet, funny, and loving,” she recalls. As is well known, Dean was a descendant of an Italian immigrant couple, and his English was not particularly good throughout his career.
“At the age of 16, my father left school and started working in clubs, first as a roulette operator, then as a singer,” says Dina. Dean married Elizabeth Ann, and they had four children together, including Dina, who is the youngest daughter. “Mother is also an amazing, caring, smart woman,” Dina adds.
Dina also revealed that at the height of her father’s career, her mother persuaded him to have plastic surgery to repair his nose. ‘At first he vehemently opposed, but in the end he was convinced and came out very successful. She kept telling him he was handsome like that. That the surgery upgraded him, “says Dina.
Dean’s daughter went his way and also works in the entertainment industry. Today, Dina has a program called “Dina Martin Live,” and she also participates in various radio programs.
