Kang Ko, 43, his wife Jin Lee Song, 37, and their son were killed when a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 crashed while attempting an emergency landing at Muan International Airport.

News9live reports this.

It is known that the three-year-old boy was on his first ever international trip – on a family holiday in Thailand. It was supposed to be a joyful Christmas celebration and a major milestone for Kang Ko, who worked in the public relations department for the Kia Tigers baseball team after their championship win earlier this year.

“My son is flying abroad for the first time on an overnight flight. First stamp in first passport, lol!! Went to the zoo, walked with a tiger and climbed on a tiger,” the boy’s father wrote under the username @kkangkko in an Instagram post, sharing a photo of the boy.

The child’s father captured every moment of the trip: from exploring the Thai palace to the heartbreaking shot of the baby looking out the window of the plane already during the flight to Bangkok.

But their vacation ended in unimaginable tragedy. Media reported that the boy was the youngest victim of the plane crash. The family’s latest vacation photos posted on social media symbolize not only lives lost, but dreams and futures that have been taken away.

It is known that of the 181 people on board, only two flight attendants survived. The remains of 174 victims have been tentatively identified, the Korea Times reported on Tuesday.

It was also reported that teams from the US National Transportation Safety Board and Boeing arrived at the scene of the plane crash in South Korea to assist in the investigation.

Possible causes of the crash are being investigated, including bird strikes, adverse weather conditions and mechanical failure.
