STORY: The Australian Ash Barty surprisingly ended her career. The tennis world number one has decided to retire from professional tennis at the age of 25. The reason she gave was that she had achieved her goals and was fed up with the tennis tour life. Less than two months after winning the Australian Open, her third singles Grand Slam title after Wimbledon 2021 and the French Open 2019, she is stepping down with 15 titles total. She had already retired from the sport in 2014 – only to return in 2016. For 121 weeks she was number one in the world.
